Delegation from the Consulate General of Pakistan in Guangzhou Visits IX to Explore New Opportunities in Innovative Vaccine Cooperation
2026 / 06 / 11

On June 9, Consul General Mr. Sardar Muhammad of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Guangzhou led a delegation to visit Xiamen Innovax Biotech Co., Ltd. (IX). Harry Pan, General Manager of IX, together with representatives from Strategy & Business Development and International Business, received the delegation.

During the visit, the delegation toured IX's exhibition hall and bulk production workshop, gaining insights into the company's development history, key products, overseas business footprint, and manufacturing processes. After the tour, the two sides held a meeting to exchange views on innovative vaccine cooperation, public health implementation, clinical research advancement, and future collaboration opportunities.

During the exchange, the two sides reviewed the long-term collaboration between IX and Pakistan. In 2020, IX's self-developed hepatitis E vaccine Hecolin was approved for marketing in Pakistan, becoming an important tool for preventing hepatitis E in the country. In 2025, the HPV bivalent vaccine Cecolin was included in Pakistan's national Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), covering approximately 13 million eligible girls. This has played a positive role in improving local access to HPV vaccination and advancing cervical cancer prevention. The two sides also exchanged views on the further promotion and application of the hepatitis E vaccine, clinical research related to special populations, and cooperation opportunities for the HPV 9-valent vaccine Cecolin 9 in Pakistan.

IX noted that Pakistan is an important market for the international application of its innovative vaccines and a representative example of Chinese innovative vaccines serving overseas public health needs. Looking ahead, IX will continue to engage with relevant institutions and partners in Pakistan around local immunization programmes and women's health needs, and further explore cooperation opportunities for innovative vaccines, including Cecolin 9, contributing to improved vaccine accessibility and public health outcomes.
