Wantai BioPharm’s continued AA rating and first-place ranking in its sector reflect sustained recognition of the company’s ESG management, risk control and sustainable development capabilities.
This progress is supported by Wantai BioPharm’s long-standing commitment to embedding sustainability across corporate governance, production and operations, and social responsibility practices. As the headquarters of Wantai BioPharm’s vaccine business, Xiamen Innovax Biotech Co., Ltd. (“IX”) has consistently aligned green development with its commitment to human health, embedding energy conservation, resource efficiency and emissions reduction into day-to-day operations.
In green manufacturing, IX’s production base has been certified as a national-level “Green Factory” and continues to advance energy conservation and resource recycling. The site has installed an 868.14 kW distributed photovoltaic power generation system across 6,677 square meters of rooftop space, using renewable energy to support vaccine production and operations.
IX has also established water recovery systems to improve water-use efficiency, recovering approximately 49,587 tonnes of water—equivalent to the annual household water consumption of 189 families.* Through practical measures to reduce electricity and water consumption, IX is translating its green development philosophy into measurable and sustainable action.
Systematic management also plays an important role in advancing green development. IX continues to promote the integrated implementation of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO 50001 Energy Management System, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), providing a robust foundation for green manufacturing and sustainable operations.
From rooftop solar panels to energy-efficiency upgrades across production lines, and from reducing electricity and water consumption to continuously strengthening its green manufacturing system, these tangible actions reflect IX’s commitment to sustainability and form an important part of Wantai BioPharm’s broader ESG practices.
Ranking first in the industry is both a recognition and a renewed responsibility. Looking ahead, IX will remain committed to its mission of “providing high-quality, affordable vaccines to improve human well-being.” The company will continue to integrate sustainability into research and development, manufacturing and operations, using innovation to protect health and advancing green development to fulfill its responsibilities, contributing to a healthier and more sustainable future.
