Xiamen Innovax Biotech Co., Ltd. (“IX”) recently participated in the 38th Annual Conference of the International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS 2026), held in Athens, Greece, from October 22nd to 25th. As a key global forum for HPV research and prevention, IPVS 2026 brought together researchers, clinicians, public health experts and industry partners to exchange the latest scientific evidence and discuss future approaches to preventing HPV-related diseases and advancing cervical cancer elimination.
Under the theme “Together Against HPV”, IX engaged with global attendees at Booth 14 on HPV vaccine innovation, scientific evidence, access, technology collaboration and localized supply. The booth featured a signature board and message wall, inviting attendees from different countries and regions to share their names, perspectives and expectations. For IX, this was more than a booth engagement activity. It was a way for a China-originated vaccine innovator to participate in the global HPV prevention dialogue with openness, equality and a willingness to listen. Through this diverse exchange, IX sought to better understand real-world needs and work with global partners to explore more accessible and sustainable pathways for HPV prevention.
As the world works toward cervical cancer elimination, countries and regions face different disease burdens, historical contexts, cultural backgrounds, levels of public awareness, vaccine policies, delivery capacities and access challenges. Through IPVS 2026, IX sought to listen to voices from diverse countries and real-world settings, and to better understand the specific challenges behind public health needs in different contexts. As a China-originated vaccine innovator, IX aims not only to bring Chinese innovation to the world, but also to learn from global experience, respect local practices, respond to real needs and work with partners to explore more accessible and sustainable pathways for HPV prevention.
New Interim Data on Single-Dose Cecolin 9 Presented at IPVS 2026
During the scientific program, Dr. Nana A. Ansah, Head of the Clinical Science Department at the Navrongo Health Research Centre in Ghana, presented the Month 6 interim analysis of PATH’s Single-dose HPV Immunobridging Study with New Vaccines (SHINE I; CVIA 104). This Phase III, double-blind, randomized, multinational study in Ghana and the Philippines compares the immunogenicity and safety of a single-dose Cecolin 9 with Gardasil 9 in girls aged 9–14 years and young women aged 15–20 years, respectively. Final data are expected to be available in 2028.

From Listening to Action
In global HPV prevention, scientific innovation can create greater public health value when it is connected with real-world needs. In many countries and regions, affordability, supply stability, delivery capacity, public awareness and policy environments remain important factors affecting HPV vaccine coverage.
IX’s HPV vaccine portfolio includes Cecolin, its WHO-prequalified bivalent HPV vaccine, and Cecolin 9, its 9-valent HPV vaccine. Leveraging its proprietary E. coli-derived virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine technology platform, IX continues to advance vaccine research, scalable manufacturing and international collaboration. The development of Cecolin 9 demonstrates a commitment to global HPV prevention and scientific innovation tailored to real-world needs—creating greater public health value and improving affordability across many countries and regions. The company also works with global partners to explore technology transfer and local manufacturing capacity building, supporting more sustainable global vaccine ecosystems.
IX’s participation in IPVS 2026 was not only an opportunity for scientific exchange, but also a moment to listen to global voices, understand real-world challenges and connect with partners for future action. IX will incorporate the valuable feedback from IPVS into its future research and collaboration, continuing to refine needs-driven approaches to international collaboration and helping high-quality, affordable vaccines better support cervical cancer prevention in more countries and regions.
About Cecolin 9
Launched in China in 2025, Cecolin 9 is a next-generation 9-valent HPV vaccine jointly developed by IX and Xiamen University. Building on the global use of Cecolin, the bivalent HPV vaccine, Cecolin 9 further expands coverage across nine HPV types associated with cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases. Supported by large-scale clinical studies, Cecolin 9 has demonstrated broad HPV type coverage, protective efficacy, a favorable safety profile, and non-inferior immunogenicity compared with an internationally licensed 9-valent HPV vaccine. With independent IP protection covering all nine HPV types, Cecolin 9 further expands IX’s HPV vaccine portfolio and provides a new high-quality option for cervical cancer prevention and control.
